Why I'm so obsessed with Russian gel manicures

Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to open your eyes to another AMAZING bougie beauty procedure I have been introduced to AND obsessed with.... RUSSIAN GEL MANICURES!!!!

I discovered Russian manicures a few months ago, and I have been obsessed ever since.

I know you all are asking what a Russian manicure is, what is it like and how does it differ from a tradition manicure. I will break down ALL the details for you and even give you the name of some amazing Russian nail salons in the Brooklyn, NY area!

WHAT IS A RUSSIAN MANICURE?! WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT?

A Russian manicure is a technique that uses an electronic file (e-file) to gently remove the excess skin and dead cuticle around your nail bed. It's a COMPLETELY waterless manicure that takes 5 to 7 steps to achieve the most PERFECT manicure you will EVER have! Unlike traditional manicures where you soak your hands in warm water to soften the cuticles and dead skin, followed by tools to clip cuticles, Russian manicures clean up your cuticle by using electric nail bits.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?!

I know you are used to spending about 45 minutes to 1hr at the salon for a traditional manicure...BUT a Russian manicure requires a minimum of an hour and a half to ensure that each step is performed safely and perfectly. My most recent manicure took 4hrs... yes 4hrs lol...but it was every single minute I was there (took 4hrs because a student was doing my nails). Depending on the intricacies of the design, the time may go up or down, but it really is worth it.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?!

The longevity of ANY manicure depends on how fast or slow your nails grow. For me, my Russian manicures start to grow out about 5wks after, but my nails still look amazing, and the gel color is still as perfect as the moment I left the salon. Due to the cuticle process of a Russian manicure, you will get 4-5wks wear out of your mani.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?!

Unlike traditional manicures where length, shape, and design are prioritized, Russian manicures focus strictly on the health of your nails. They do NOT use any acrylics or toxic gel polishes; they only use non-toxic hard gel extensions. My natural nails have NEVER been as healthy and grown as fast with any other manicure then they do with a Russian manicure.

WHAT IS THE PRICE POINT ?!

They are a little bit more expensive than a traditional manicure, but the quality of work and the longevity makes it all worth it. Depending on location, pricing can start at $70-$80 for basic color, but go all the way up to $150+ depending on design and the intricate details.

SHOULD I TRY A RUSSIAN MANICURE?!

If you are looking for a nail service that will strengthen your real nails but look and feel amazing...I highly recommend a Russian manicure. I stopped using traditional acrylic once I started getting Russian manicures and I've never looked back...no regrets or complaints. 10/10 for me and I would say YES YOU SHOULD TRY AND RUSSIAN MANICURE!!

Here are videos of my most recent french gel Russian Manicure and I am SO SO SO obsessed with the outcome.

My fave Russian nail salon is located in Brooklyn and the quality of their work is AMAZING. It's called Julee Art Studio www.instagram.com/julee_art_studio

I only recommend the best, and I highly recommend visiting. You will not be disappointed!

If you plan to get a Russian manicure, let me know how it goes and the salon you went to...I can't wait to hear about it!

And as always, feel free to ask any questions you have and I will be glad to answer them all.
